Accessing the MCU
All of the MCUs reside in one ViDeNet
zone: Internet2
Commons. The Internet2 Commons uses the Global
Dialing
Scheme. If you are
not yet GDS-enabled, you may borrow space on the Internet2 Commons Gatekeeper.
If you have any questions, contact an Internet2 Commons video engineer for
assistance at commons-techsupport@internet2.edu.
Using the MCU Videoconferencing Facilities
Subscribers to the Internet2 Commons Videoconferencing Service via H.323 may
schedule videoconferences or request an ad hoc
videoconference. Non-members may use one of the limited MCUs for testing and
demonstration purposes.
Scheduled Videoconferencing
Scheduled conferences guarantee the availability of the facilities you request
for
your conference. Advanced features can also be requested and include
simultaneous streaming and recording, various screen configurations for continuous
presence,
and multiple transmission rates and video codecs. more...
Note: Conferences may only be requested by a subscribing organization's
designated Internet2 Commons
Site Coordinator.
Testing and Evaluation
If you are thinking of purchasing your own MCU and want to evaluate
various types, we'd be happy to talk with you. Send an email to: commons-techsupport@internet2.edu.
You may also want to visit the testing
your endpoints page.
